Do you want the kiddos in your class to complete 25 to 30 activities a week, independently, clean up their own mess and you are able to see and assess all of the work. Well if you do, look at Workshop.
Do you want a fun way to practice number combinations to 10 by using both math and literacy? You will love using the Garden Task Cards to figure out the combinations of 10. The whole class or a small group can work on the problem solving skills using Task Cards. The cute clip art and the books The Tale of Peter By Beatrix Potter or Tops & Bottoms by Janet Stevens add to the excitement of this game.
Do you like candy or do you have a book you can hardly wait to read? I do, its Nancy Carlson’s book, Harriet’s Halloween Candy! I love this book and every time I read it. It brings memories back to me of my own children when they were little. They hid their candy from each other, along with Mom and Dad!
Making tally marks can be confusing for kindergartners. They often wanted to make all five tally lines before they make the cross tally. I made an anchor chart with a cave man that showed how to make tally marks. The cave man showed the kiddos how it was done. I told the kiddos the cave man on the chart was the first person to be a “mathematician”!
The Presidential election is right around the corner. So why not bring the spirit of the election into your classroom in a very unique way, with Mr. Dog and Mr. Scarecrow. It is a great way to get involved in the election process, without getting involved in political parties.
